PRESS RELEASE — Forbes Lists Lakeland Regional Health On Its America’s Best Mid-Size Employers List

Lakeland, FL – The trusted business resource and publication Forbes has named Lakeland Regional Health (LRH) as number 64 of 250 of America’s Best Mid-Size Employers for 2016. This is the second consecutive year that LRH has been nationally recognized as an employer by Forbes.

According to Forbes, the list honors those workplaces that make their employees feel secure, understood, needed and inspired. The report, available now on Forbes.com, is featured in the April 2 print issue of Forbes.

The list is formed using a survey, conducted anonymously by Statista, that sampled over 30,000 American workers from all industry sectors. According to Forbes, the respondents are demographically representative of the workforce in the United States. One of the key metrics was the employee’s willingness to recommend their organization to others as a career choice.

“We are excited to be named along with such prominent organizations, but we are even more thrilled that our team members esteem our workplace so highly,” said Elaine C. Thompson, PhD, FACHE, Lakeland Regional Health President and Chief Executive Officer. “We put people at the heart of all we do so this recognition is greatly valued.”

The survey was conducted with global digital data collection partners who use innovative technology and proven sampling methodologies to facilitate a deep understanding of consumer opinions and behavior. Participation in the survey was voluntary, and respondents were recruited from thousands of sources to maximize reach and representation.

“We are honored to continue to receive national recognition for our organizational commitment to creating a healthy, nurturing and vital workplace culture,” said Jonn Hoppe, General Counsel/Chief Legal Officer and Interim Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer.

Some of the healthcare providers on this year’s list include Johns Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore), Cleveland Clinic, New York University Langone Medical Center and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Other organizations also recognized include Mosaic, LL Bean, Wayfair, Princeton University, and Marathon Oil.

Lakeland Regional Health has also been recently honored by Becker’s Hospital Review for workplace excellence.
