A Note to Our Community on Vaccines:

We are heartened to see the number of people eager to receive their COVID-19 vaccines. We highly encourage everyone to consider receiving the vaccine, particularly those who are at high risk of complications from the virus.

Our team is pleased to continue assisting the Department of Health in Polk County in administering its share of vaccines to those on its waiting list who are 65 years and older (https://register.polk.health).

We also are administering a limited number of vaccines to those who are ages 64 years and younger who are highly vulnerable, based on the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s guidelines for that at-risk population. Among the recipients of these vaccines are:

  • Individuals with Down syndrome
  • Patients currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments
  • Patients who are currently receiving kidney dialysis
  • Patients who have chronic kidney disease
  • Patients with congestive heart failure
  • Patients with sickle cell anemia

Lakeland Regional Health continues to work with community partners to identify patients who meet the CDC criteria. If you are among this group identified by local community agencies, you will be contacted by Lakeland Regional Health. At this time, there is not a Lakeland Regional Health waiting list for this population nor are we accepting vaccine appointment requests.

We also continue to vaccinate our highest-risk healthcare workers.

Please stay tuned to your email, this website and our Facebook page for the most up-to-date vaccine administration information at Lakeland Regional Health. We are grateful for these opportunities to strengthen the health of our community.
