Not all health needs are planned. Sometimes we may experience an event like a fall or accident that requires more emergent care.

Orthopedic trauma care ranges from simple fractures to severe life-threatening accidents with multiple fractures. We have a dedicated Orthopedic Trauma Service at Lakeland Regional Health with fellowship-trained Orthopedic Traumatologists.

Emergency Orthopedic Care

Our trauma surgeons are specially trained in musculoskeletal injuries, including fractures and fracture-related issues that require immediate emergency care.

Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center is the only designated Level II Trauma Center for Polk, Highland and Hardee Counties. Our orthopedic trauma surgeons provide life-saving, around-the-clock trauma care to those arriving for emergency treatment.

Non-Emergency Orthopedic Care

Prompt and efficient orthopedic care can mean less pain and quicker return to the activities and the lifestyle you enjoy.

At our outpatient care location, you will find:

31 exam rooms
5 private casting bays, where care providers immobilize bones and muscles following fractures or surgeries
2 digital X-ray suites for quicker and more efficient results
Highly skilled outpatient physical and occupational therapists on site
