Lakeland, FL – Lakeland Regional Health worked closely with Greg and Kim Ruthven to honor long-time and well-known emergency department physician, Dr. James (Jim) Melton of Lakeland Regional Health.

As the resident population grows rapidly in Polk County, Lakeland Regional Health is expanding its vital emergency services to meet the community’s needs. The emergency department lobby renovation and dedication, named after Dr. Jim Melton, is made possible with the Ruthven Family’s gift to the Lakeland Regional Health Foundation.

“We are thrilled to work with Greg and Kim Ruthven, who are dedicated to honoring their friend, Dr. Melton, and the decades of life-saving care he has provided to our community. We deeply thank the Ruthven Family and their spirit of generosity and their support of our organization’s mission,” said Timothy Boynton, Lakeland Regional Health’s Senior Vice President Of Development/Chief Public Relations & Communications Office.
