Frequently Asked Questions COVID-19 Drive-Thru Testing
Drive-thru testing allows people to remain in their car to receive a PCR COVID-19 test. This method reduces the opportunities for the virus to spread and is safer for those being tested and for the healthcare workers. The drive-thru process including Check-in, Registration and Testing takes approximately 15 minutes.

Lakeland Regional Health worked with Polk County Government to coordinate a drive-thru option for COVID-19 Testing so individuals in our local area will have a convenient place to receive COVID-19 testing.
Lakeland Regional Health and Polk County Government offer a convenient Drive-Thru Testing Center, located on the first floor of the D-E Parking Garage on the Medical Center Campus.
The Drive-Thru Testing Center is open 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
Most insurance providers cover the cost of the swab testing.

Those tested at our Drive-Thru Testing site must schedule an appointment and are able to remain in the comfort and safety of their car throughout the process.
Those with severe symptoms can be assessed and tested through our Emergency Department at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center.
Those 2 years and older will be tested at the Drive-Thru Testing Center.
Lakeland Regional Health also offers a family-friendly Children's Testing Site in the Triage Area of our Children's Emergency Department, located in the Carol Jenkins Barnett Pavilion for Women and Children on the Medical Center Campus. A doctor's testing order is required. Children ages 17 years and younger are welcome. Hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week. Appointments are not necessary. Tests are sent to commercial labs for testing, and results will take an average of 5 to 7 days. You will be contacted directly with your results. Depending on the results you receive, you may receive further instructions for follow-up care. As always, should your condition change and your symptoms worsen at any time, please seek medical care. If you have a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
We are pleased to offer COVID-19 testing for those with no symptoms at both our Drive-Thru Testing Center and our Urgent Care locations. The rapid antigen test is available at our Urgent Care locations, and PCR testing is provided at our Drive-Thru Testing Center. Results are currently returned from our Drive-Thru Testing Center in 24 hours or less. Both tests cost $100 and are a self-pay service.
